Cheshire
(NW) won the alternative doubles competition.
The team was Ros Pimlott(capt), Joan Spilsbury, Chris Evans and
Ian Bell.

Colin Irwin won the Northerns 'A' Class. Other
winners were Barry McKenzie (B Class), John Saxby (C Class),
Phil Eardley/Mike Steer (Advanced Doubles), Martin Granger
Brown/Barry McKenzie (Pidcock Mallets Handicap Doubles) and
Colin Irwin (Cardwell Handicap Singles).
Celebrations were held for John and
Detta Saxby's Golden Wedding.

Liz Webb played in the Hamptworth
Handicap Weekend and came away with first prize.

Brian Storey won the Bury Advanced
Tournament at Heaton Park and the Cavendish Clock at Crake
Valley.
The Longman team kept their hopes
alive and with a 6-1 win over Kenilworth.

The Wednesday league became known
as the Steve Lewis Trophy with a new trophy donated by Steve's
family.

Richard Smith won the Edgbaston Advanced competition and
the Swiss in Southport's Advanced Weekend.

Championship for the 9th time.

Novices.

Omied Hallam from Notttingham won the Sheila Black
Plate (Bowdon's 'B' Level Tournament) for the second year
running.

In Greece, Kay Martin and Alan Mayne
won the Open Doubles whilst Rupert Webb was victorious in the
14pt Tournament.
The Wednesday Competition winners
for July to October were Alison Court (3 wins), Alan Mayne,
Janice Moir, Brian Storey, Leo Fletcher, Brian Rust, David
Holland, Jane Wilkinson, Sheila Sandham, John Leckie, Chris
Evans, Nan Bowers and Mike Steer. Alison Court won the seasonal
award. with Brian Storey 2nd and Louise Cheyne 3rd.
Colin Irwin won the USCA
Invitational 8 in Florida.
