Thursday, 4th August: Bowdon Sinners are at home to Fylde (NWF Level-Play Golf League)
Fylde are unable to put out a side for this match and Bowdon will claim the match.
As a result, all lawns will be available for club members' use for all of the day

Sunday, 7th August: Bowdon B-Level are at home to Fylde (NWF B-Level Advanced League)

John Lucas (Capt.)

Francois Garcia

Sylvia Steer
Sylvia Steer (4) & John Lucas (4½) lost to Liz Wilson (1½) & Nathan Baker (4½) -18T
Francois Garia (3½) beat Peter Wilson (1½) +5
Sylvia lost to Peter -12
Francois beat Liz +4
John beat Nathan +4T
Fylde arrived with a strong team, whose handicaps totalled 7.5, compared with Bowdon's total of 12.  Nevertheless Bowdon produced a great win.  Sylvia and John struggled determinedly in the morning doubles, but could only accumulate 8 points, all scored by Sylvia.  Francois was the heroine of the day winning both her singles games against players with handicaps 4 steps lower than her own.  At one point in the afternoon Bowdon were 2 -1 down as Sylvia faced an opponent 5 handicap steps better than her.  The singles wins in the afternoon by Francois and John were very closely fought.  Both games had Fylde ahead into the closing stages leaving tense finishes.  Well done the Bowdon B level team!
