NW FEDERATION MILLENNIUM TOURNAMENTS
Bowdon will be represented at the various North-West Federation competitions

14th-15th May: Level-Play Golf Croquet Competition, Whitehead Park, Bury CC

Alan Mayne

Graham Good

Alan & Graham represented Bowdon in the Federation Level Play Golf at the weekend. Following some late drop outs a slightly disappointing field of 6 met at Coronation Park -one of Bury CC's many homes. What the field lacked in quantity they certainly made up for in quality and by the end of the weekend 66% were 'minus' players. Following 2 rounds of all play all Alan played Paul Rigge in one semi, whilst Graham played Pendle's Dave Widdison. In tightly fought matches both narrowly lost in games that could have gone either way. Riggey went on to beat Dave 2-0 in the final, again really close games where the score could easily have been reversed, to retain the Fed title.

As the honours between Bowdon were even at 1 all, Alan & Graham decided not to play 3rd/4th play-off, they are saving themselves for the Inter-Club match against Belsey Hall on Friday.

15th May: Short Croquet Competition, Chester CC

Margaret Moss

Brian Rust

Brian Rust and Margaret Moss played in the Millennium Short Croquet Tournament at Chester, won by Brian Walton of Chester. The eight players all took part in 4 games; Brian and Margaret both won one game.

21st-22nd May: Handicap AC Competition, Crake Valley CC

Louise Cheyne

Patrick Cheyne
David Lloyd won the trophy and Ivan Wheatley was the runner up.  The weather was bad on Saturday but Sunday was lovely.  Louise lost all her games but one and Patrick won three of his games.  The lawns were very different to play on!!  Even with her hard hitting she was struggling to go from one end to the other and the balls were bouncing along.

11th June: Handicap Golf Croquet Competition, Whitehead Park, Bury CC

Barry Keen

Margaret Moss (Reserve)

Barry Keen and Margaret Moss participated in the Millennium Golf Croquet tournament at Coronation Park, Bury. It was a good humoured event, despite heavy rain. Margaret won 2 of her 6 games.
