club member Sylvia Steer was selected
to play for the CA Ladies Development
Squad against an all-men's Lancashire
team. The purpose of the Development
Squad is to raise the profile of
women's competitive play over all
clubs.
Saturday's order of play
was Doubles, Best of Three Games per
pairing and Sylvia had Women's world
champion, Miranda Chapman, as a
partner. Sunday, Singles Day, when
each team member played their opposite
number in ranking order in Bo3 match.
Final score: 6-3 to the CA Ladies.
The
weekend was quite
a formidable challenge but good
competition and very enjoyable.
