Geoffrey Hunt won the Cancer Charity One-Ball competition held in aid of Myeloma. He beat 32 other competitors to earn the top prize of an Easter Egg and a place in the finals at Surbiton.

A total of £200 was raised and, using Gift Aid, we can raise this to £240. This will enable us to send 4 people to the final at Surbiton on 8th May, should they so wish. If any of the top four winners are unavailable then the next players in order of finishing can be offered places in the final. There is no obligation to go but there is an engraved decanter for the winner of the final and engraved glasses for the runners-up. Finally, for those who did not qualify for a free place in the final or were unable to attend, there will be a few places by direct entry, at £20 - all of which will go to charity.

Myeloma is often referred to as 'bone marrow cancer', it affects 4,800 people each year in the UK and it cannot be cured, only controlled, and therefore sufferers often need a lot of support. As it happens, several prominent croquet players have contracted Myeloma in the past few years. This excellent charity has a 'house colour' of orange, so everyone was encouraged to wear something orange!
