The competitors (left to right): Mike Shelmerdine, Andrew Thomson, Richard Saul, Roger Medhurst, Adrian Apps & Peter Mayne

Three players were tied on 4 wins each: Richard, Adrian and Andrew, but Richard won on net points as each of them had beaten one of the other two!
For the honour of winning, Richard had his handicap cut to 20 and the 2 runners-up will each now play off of 22.

The competition was open to all new members and those who did the beginners’ course again this year but who have not played in the competition before or in any other club knockout competition.

Games were played on short lawns with a duration of 1 hour, each player having 10 bisques. An American Block format was used so each player got 5 games.

A start time of 10.00am ensured a 4pm finish, allowing for a lunch break at 1pm.
