SWINGING
SUNDAY, 19th July

This week's winner
Roger Medhurst, with runner up Richard
Saul and third placed Adrian Apps.
Are
you a new player, who
joined this year or last?
If you have recently joined us and are
wondering how to progress, then Swinging Sundays
are for you!
We play 2 games of short croquet, usually
twice a month depending on lawn availability.
The aim is to give you experience of playing
proper games, to meet fellow players and to
learn the etiquette of croquet in a relaxed
setting.
We follow the rules of short croquet and
there is a winner each week. We can cater
for 2 - 10 players, with no standard expected.
There is no need to book - just turn up
just before 10.15am on 9th August, 23rd
August & 6th September.
We usually finish just before 1 pm
so that those who have a traditional Sunday lunch
can get home in time!
If you want to know more, please ring Nan
Bowers on 928 3622
ALSO, the new members
have agreed to meet on Friday mornings, starting at
10am,
for some informal sessions. They will be
supervised by experienced Bowdon players and
the first one started on 17th July. The
sessions will comprise of individual games
on short lawns with on-court suggestions
being given re the line of play to take,
with extra bisques being available. As the
sessions progress, play will gradually be
refined so that, by the end of the year,
players will be familiar with the proper
rules and scope of Short Croquet.
The available Fridays up to the end of
September are:
July 24th & 31st, August 7th, 14th &
21st, September 4th, 18th & 25th.
