LANCASHIRE IRWELL WIN 11th ALTERNATIVE COUNTIES COMPETITION, Wednesday 1st July

On the hottest day of the year, Lancashire Irwell won this annual event quite convincingly, with Cheshire NW coming runners-up

Next Wednesday sees another of our annual fun competitions, the Alternative Counties, which was the brain child of John Saxby; he wanted each club member who did not attend the national Inter-Counties championship in Brighton each May to be able to represent their own county of birth (or near enough to make a day of it) in a similar competition.

A strict dress code of "whites" will be imposed and play will start at 9.30am sharp; late-comers will risk having their ball put on the yard-line (just like the big boys)!


The winners will receive the much-coveted Alternative Counties trophy
