LANCASHIRE IRWELL WIN 11th ALTERNATIVE COUNTIES COMPETITION, Wednesday 1st July On the hottest day of the year, Lancashire Irwell won this annual event quite convincingly, with Cheshire NW coming runners-up Winners: Lancashire Irwell Club President Colin Irwin presented Margaret Moss, Graham Good, Liz Webb & Pauline Hennell with their cups along with the much-coveted winner's trophy Runners-Up: Cheshire NW 1st. Select 39 pts.   All those club members who took part A 3-minute video of the presentation, produced by Mike Steer, can be viewed here Next Wednesday sees another of our annual fun competitions, the Alternative Counties, which was the brain child of John Saxby; he wanted each club member who did not attend the national Inter-Counties championship in Brighton each May to be able to represent their own county of birth (or near enough to make a day of it) in a similar competition. A strict dress code of "whites" will be imposed and play will start at 9.30am sharp; late-comers will risk having their ball put on the yard-line (just like the big boys)!
