ACTION REQUIRED TO BE TAKEN BY CLUB MEMBERS

To ALL CA Members:

Important changes to the Croquet Association Constitution have been proposed relating to membership. The outcome, for or against change, will affect YOU and also club members who are not CA members at this time.

Altogether, three proposals are being made, in an order that depends on the success or otherwise of the preceding proposal.

Briefly, they concern:
1.  Permission to increase per capita subscriptions of member clubs (like Bowdon), above the rate of inflation.
2.  It motion 1 is passed, "Expansion of CA membership to include all players of a member club, for which a per capita fee will be payable, whilst allowing individuals to opt out of membership, but retaining the fee payable by the club to the CA".
3.  If motion 2 is carried, "Abolition of voting rights for member clubs."

All Bowdon Croquet Club members who are also members of the Croquet Association are encouraged to get their vote in on time before the electronic or postal deadline of 18th March, or attend the CA SGM on 28th March 2015 to cast their vote personally. To vote, either use the form in the Croquet Gazette or vote online via the Croquet Association website

For the record, the Club Committee, on behalf of the club, has voted to support all three proposals with a vote in favour of the changes.

Further information relating to the proposals can be found in the Croquet Gazette, February 2015 edition.
