HOLMES WON THE SPENCER-ELL CUP, 5th-9th September  Winner: Matt Holmes Runner-up: Ian Lines Congratulations go to Bowdon member Matt Holmes for winning the Spencer-Ell Cup at Pendle over the long weekend, one of the 5 competitions during Eights Week. Ian Lines, also of Bowdon, was runner-up. Matt is famous for naming his real ales after croquet subjects; perhaps there will be a new brew on the way! |
