This weekend Bowdon Croquet Club is
privileged to host the President's Cup, one
of the 5 tournaments taking place as part of
Eights Week. The top 8 players in the
country are offered a place in the
President's Cup, the next 8 a place in the
Chairman's Salver, and so on for the other
three events: the Spencer-Ell Cup, the
Treasurer's Tankard and the Selector's
Weekend, each held at different croquet
clubs around the country. Clubs
have to bid to hold an Eights competition
and we last held the President's Cup in 2008
(click
here to view). So,
why not make a special effort to come along
and watch this prestigious event but don't
be confused as they will be playing under
Super-Advanced Rules!
Only one Bowdon member, David
Maugham, will be taking part at Bowdon;
the other players are: Mark Avery,
Jamie Burch, Paddy Chapman, Robert Fulford,
Stephen Mulliner, Samir Patel & Peter
Trimmer. Keep up-to-date with the
scores as they happen by clicking

Our intrepid roving
reporter, Mike Steer, has been busy

Patel match for you to enjoy by clicking
