CA Working Party Report | |

After the
special meeting at Culcheth on 1st February to
discuss the C.A. Working Paper (see report of what
has happened up to now by clicking
here), the C.A. Conference for all northern
clubs was held at Huddersfield on 15th February
after which Barry Keen made the following
observations: The meeting was indifferent (ie: not mind) to making Federations members. There still appears to be a general feeling along the lines of why do it if it makes no difference but if the CA wants it done, so what! The meeting saw no need to change the Federation boundaries in the North. The concept of making all club members full members of the CA was greeted with approval even though it would add about £10 to the capitation fee. There was a general (although not unanimous) feeling that it would be best if spread over several years instead of in one bite. The Sheffield U3A club who was present but not affiliated to the CA was the only negative voice as their sub of about £25 (from memory - may have got that wrong) would be increased by a high percentage if they joined the CA. |
