SOUTHPORT ADVANCED TOURNAMENT, 14th-15th September Sixteen players from Bowdon, Hurlingham, Fylde, Crake, Tyneside, Middlesbrough and Southport played a good standard of croquet on excellent lawns, including a spectacular straight quadruple by Dave Nick. They assembled for the Southport Advanced Tournament with the Sanderson Plate at stake. Phil Scarr of Middlesbrough (left), won the event, beating Mark Ormrod in the final.
