Cheshire v. Middlesex - not played due to rain
Heavy rain at Southwick resulted in the final round not being started. An impromptu meeting of the Tournament Committee decided to abandon the final round since the weather radar was showing further heavy rain and since only 5 lawns were really playable by now (and all were technically unplayable because of some standing water) there was no guarantee the final round could be finished. Analysis of the state of play and the unfinished block resolution section in the CA's Regulation for Tournaments showed that Nottinghamshire had won Division 1, and Suffolk could not be caught in Division 2. This does mean, however, that Cheshire and Middlesex (who had to play each other in the final round), have to wait for a decision to be made about which one of them gets relegated with Essex and Berks & Oxon!
