TASTER DAY 1, Saturday 13th April
We had 18 people turn up today for our first Taster Day of the season and a number of club members made themselves avaiable to help out. Lawns 3 & 4 were set out as short lawns but play came to an abrupt halt around 2.30pm when the heavens opened; unfortunately, the majority drifted home and were not able to stay for Saturday tea and experience the friendly atmosphere of the Bowdon club. The good news was that we signed up 9 of them for our Beginners' Course starting on 9th May. Overall, a good day for the club and many thanks go to all those who helped.

On Friday we welcomed Macclesfield AIR (Activity in Retirement) Group and Christine Irwin took them through the basic strokes of Association Croquet, enough for them to have a few games amongst themselves, with the aim of starting up a croquet section in Macclesfield.
