WALES WIN IN CAIRO

Santa Claus (aka Amir Ramsis Naguib, the WCF President) came early for the Welsh Golf Croquet team on Friday (14/12/12), presenting their captain and Bowdon member, David Walters, with the Pyramids Trophy, for winning the inaugral hosting of Division 2 of the WCF GC World Team Championship in Cairo.

Having beaten Scotland, Latvia and the Czech Republic in the block phase, Wales beat Norway 7-0 in their semi-final and faced Belgium in the final. This was a much closer match, with Wales 2-3 down with 2 rubbers to play. However, David and Kevin Ham won their final games, played under floodlights, within seconds of each other to clinch victory 4-3
