NW FEDERATION LEAGUE MATCHES Sunday, 15th July: Bowdon went away to Fylde and gained an impressive 11-5 win (NWF Short League) Alison Court (Capt.) Neil Thompson Chris Evans Louise Cheyne Bowdon won 11-5, thanks to Neil and Louise who won all 4 of their games and Chris who won 3. Alison did not do so well, not winning any! Thursday, 12th July: Bowdon entertained Pendle & Craven but lost 10-8 (NWF Golf League) Dave Holland (Capt.) Margaret Moss Chris Evans Ali Reeves Margaret Moss had an excellent day, winning 3 out of her 4 singles and Alison Reeves had a fine first-ever match winning her doubles and one of her singles. Chris Evans did well winning 2 out of 4. Unfortunately, the captain for the day could only manage one single win (and the doubles). Thursday, 12th July: Bowdon Earls lost 6-1 away to Westmorland (NWF Midweek League) Francois Garcia (Capt.) Sylvia Steer John Lucas Ian Bell Only John Lucas won a game on lawns that were rough for the Bowdon players' liking. Special mention should be made of Ian Bell, as this was his first game with the Earls and he played very well, losing only by -2.
