Bowdon now play Cheltenham in the 2nd Round. The club records show no occurrence of Bowdon playing Cheltenham before in the Longman Cup so the venue had to be decided by a toss up and we lost - a journey to Cheltenham awaits!

The match was played under very wet conditions and had to be halted at 11.30am when lakes arrived, so an early lunch was taken. The morning matches resumed at 1.30pm and finished at 3pm. In the afternoon, 14pt games were played to save time and a 2-1 lead at the halfway stage turned into a 4-3 loss by the end!
