BOWDON MEMBER'S OLYMPIC LINKS

Did you know that Alison Court's mother (above) and uncle have both won Olympic medals?

At the famous 1936 Berlin Olympics Godfrey Brown (Alison's uncle) was narrowly beaten by Archie Williams (USA) in the 400 metres individual race but he anchored the British 4 x 400 metres relay team to a gold medal ahead of the United States. Audrey Brown MBE (Alison's mother) gained a silver medal with the British 4 x 100 metres team.
