LOCAL DERBY MATCH BOWDON'S TWO HANDICAP LEAGUE TEAMS, FIRS AND ST.MARY'S, BATTLED IT OUT ON SUNDAY WITH FIRS 4-3 WINNERS.
Firs won this very closely contested match 4 - 3. The weather was very,
very wet in the morning, with some prolonged
hailstone showers.
Firs won the doubles,
but the remaining morning singles were split, giving
Firs a 2 - 1 lunchtime lead.
The afternoon
saw keenly fought matches, with the
result of 3 very close right to the end.
Special mention should
be made of Louise, she was a very last minute
stand-in. So although Louise lost both her matches,
they were very close.
Also Andrew did very
well, winning comfortably both his matches. I'm sure
I can see the handicaps of both these coming down
soon.
