The morning started off wet, becoming very wet with virtual monsoon conditions prevailing in the afternoon causing severe lawn flooding.

The Results:	 Bowdon 1, Southport 5 and a draw.

Two games were abandoned. The first abandoned game was conceded to Southport by mutual agreement. The second abandoned game was declared a draw as the score was level.

Game 2:	 Tony Thomas beat Helen Hudson +10 (26-16)
Game 3:	 Alan Farrell beat Patrick Cheyne +10 (26-16)
Game 4:	 Keith Roberts beat Tony Hudson +5T (23-18)
Game 5:	 Tony Thomas beat Patrick Cheyne (abandoned but conceded to Southport) (12-9)
Game 6:	 Alan Farrell beat Helen Hudson +9 (24-15)
Game 7:	 Eileen Galagher drew with Brian Rust (match abandoned) (13-13)

All players were soaked to the skin by the end of the day. At one point Tony Hudson skidded and fell flat on his back in a flooded part of lawn 1!

Considering the adverse conditions, Southport were excellent hosts and their hot meal and fine wine was much appreciated by all participants.
