The Bowdon team on Sunday: Margaret Russell, Barry McKenzie, Steve Reynolds (Capt.), Barry Keen (Manager of Tournament), Alan Mayne, Alison Court, Ros Pimlott & Mike Steer
Margaret Moss & Carol Steinberg played for Bowdon on Saturday.
It was a good but tiring weekend. Very good food and hospitality excellent as usual. Weather was generally very good - apart from a brief downpour on the Sunday, but timed after all the matches had finished while waiting for the presentation.

Bowdon as a team did not excel, but everyone enjoyed themselves. Our best result was in the Advanced One-Ball where Alan Mayne and Mike Steer won 6 of their 8 matches, coming 2nd.  Fylde, the winners came 1st, losing only 1 match.  The Golf team was one of 3 teams with 4 wins, but on countback ended up as 7th. Team was Ros Pimlott, Margaret Russell and Margaret Moss (Saturday) / Alison Court (Sunday).  The Handicap team only managed 1 win out of 5, and again finished 7th. Team was Steve Reynolds, Barry Keen and Carol Steinberg (Saturday) / Barry McKenzie (Sunday).  Carol won 2 of her 3 games on the Saturday, including 1 in the Cage.

Thanks to all who attended and to Southport for all their hard work in making this event so successful. And a special thank for to Barry Keen for Managing the event so well. This year there was little time spent hanging round between matches.  Over 300 games were played over the weekend with representatives from 10 clubs in the NW.  Over 100 players participated in the two day event.

If Bowdon are to return to their glory days in this competition we are going to need to get more players involved, so look out for the notices next year.
