INDIVIDUAL WINNERS OVER THE WEEKEND

SWINGING SUNDAY, 26th June
Fiona Howard had her second win in the Swinging Sunday competition with 51 points. She was one of only four players who turned up, although others wanted to come but had something on in the afternoon and didn't think they would have been finished in time.  Neil Thompson, having just completed the beginners' course, won his first game on the golden hoop.
Hopefully there will be more next time (August 7th), especially others who attended the beginners' course.
Play consists of 2 games, each 1 hour long, starting at 10:15am and usually finishing just before 1pm.  The weather was excellent - perhaps summer has arrived at last!
THE CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE EAST MIDLANDS, 24th-26th June
Ian Lines won a tightly fought best of 3 final against Robin Brown,
the final exciting decider game being won +1.  Ian ran rover deep and hit the peg when Robin was lurking just 3 yards north of the peg.
Another Bowdon member, David  Maugham, won the plate.
