NW FEDERATION SHORT CROQUET LEAGUE
BURY 8 BOWDON 8 SUNDAY 15th MAY 2011 The Short team played Bury at Coronation Park, in the drizzle and achieved a hard earned draw 8 - 8.The principal reason for this was the excellent performance by Janice Moir who won all four of her matches. She was supported by Dave Holland (2 wins), Margaret Moss (1 win) and Brian Rust (1 win). The result went to the wire, with the last match to finish being Magaret's which went to the Golden Hoop. Unfortunately, by a fraction of an inch she was unable to clearly dislodge her opponent from his hoop, which he eventually made, resulting in the draw. |
