LEAGUE AND CUP MATCHES OVER
THE WEEKEND On Sunday, the club played its 3rd round Mary Rose Inter-Club match away to Bristol and the team was victorious, winning 5-1 with one game unfinished. In the semi-final they meet the winner of the Bath v. Cheltenham tie.
Also on Sunday, the club was involved in various NW Federation League matches. Bowdon St.Mary's were away to Chester but came away losing 4-3.
The Short Team entertained Fylde and managed a 9-7 victory. The result looked in doubt at lunch time when they were 6-2 down; even 3 wins in the first afternoon round of games still meant 4 wins were required in the last session to pull off a surprise result. David had 4 wins, Jean & Sue had 2 wins each, while Chris came in with the all-important single win.
Bowdon Saints were also at home to Fylde, who they beat 7-2. The star for the visitors was Peter Wilson who was their only winner, capturing the scalp of Andrew Winn in the process. John Wastell did equally well for the home team beating Lee Hartley, and then he went on to cap the day off with his first-ever triple peel in match play.
