2009 WCF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, 9th - 17th MAY
 
REG BAMFORD IS WORLD CHAMPION FOR THE THIRD TIME!
The 12th World Championship began on Saturday at the National Croquet Centre, West Palm Beach, Florida, USA, and ran until Sunday, 17th May.  80 players from 25 countries took part, commencing with block play (8 blocks of 10), followed by the Knock-out phase. Of the Bowdon players only David Maugham, Ian Lines & Keith Aiton reached the Knock-out Phase, but none progressed far. Colin Irwin got as far as the Quarter-Final of the Plate Competition but there is no news of whether he plaed any more. Anyway, they send their best wishes to everyone following their progress.
