IAN LINES WINS MILLENNIUM ADVANCED AT HEATON PARK, 25-26 APRIL

Lee Hartley was the star performer of the weekend with several excellent wins, including over Ian Lines and Bob Burnett, reducing his handicap from 1 to zero. Lee shot well and made very few errors - a good prospect for future Lancashire teams. James Hawkins returned to form with a couple of wins, including a tpo. Lee Hartley looked favourite to win after beating Ian on Saturday, but he lost a game on Sunday and so the final decider was between David Walters and Ian. Even though David lost that game, he succeeded in reducing his handicap to -1. The lawns at Heaton Park were relatively easy, though tight hoops caused a few breakdowns. Paul Rigge had all four peels of a quad and Andrew Winn notched up another tp.
