After
many years of
valuable use,
it is now felt
necessary to
update our
club website
to the latest
standard
website
software. The
CA have an
offering of
using their
standard
design website
which we can
tailor to a
large extent
to suit our
needs. The
advantages are
that the CA
host the site
free of charge
and support
the
development
and
trouble-shoot
any problems.
A number of
the croquet
clubs
throughout the
country are
using this
standard.
Our
website team
of Adrian
Apps, Ken
Cooper and
Mike Flannery
have tailored
the CA
standard for
Bowdon and it
is now
available to
view by
following this
link https://croquet-websites.org.uk/bowdon.
The
website is
designed not
only for
Members but
also to
attract
non-members to
see the
facilities we
have and to
promote our
club. As you
will see there
is a Members'
Area which
requires
registration
and subsequent
approval by
one of the
website team,
to be able to
view the
Members-only
content.
Members are
encouraged to
register prior
to the final
switch over
date. There is
still some
work being
done on the
new website to
ensure it is
fully
up-to-date
with all the
news. Also, a
few of the
pagesare
still
being
developed and
will be
completed soon.
It
is planned to
run the old
and new
website in
parallel
during the
next few weeks
before a
switch over
during the
last week of
June.
After
switch over,
the old
website will
not be
available. However,
the website
team will have
access toall
of theinformation
from the old
site, should
it still be
needed. Please
have a look at
the new
website and
feel free to
register. Any
comments on
further
development
will be most
welcome.
